Soil preparation Terroir-06
For once, we’re pulling out all the stops on one of our plots. Fifty years ago, it was home to jasmine, and then lay fallow for several decades.
This winter, it will once again be home to fragrant plants, namely centifolia roses. But first, we have to prepare the soil, respecting its nature and composition. So, instead of ploughing, which would disrupt the soil’s internal life, we use a ripper to break up the soil to a depth of 70 cm without turning it over. In this way, everything that needs to stay on the surface stays on the surface, and everything that needs to stay deep down does the same.
The centifolia roses we’ll be planting will of course be ORGANIC, and the roses we’ll be harvesting in May will be used to make the rose syrups, rose preserves and rose-flavoured honeys we know you love!
